8-22-13 Thursday

1. Warm Up
2. We wrote the standard which we were learning
3. We took notes on the handout "Middle East Geography Background Information"
4. We colored our map ***Map Quiz next Tuesday 8-27-13***
5. We took notes on a video on Saudi Arabia, and a video on Turkey (two things learned in each short video clip).

8-21-13 Wednesday

Warm Up
We then used the atlas to find political and physical features of the middle east.
We then went to the computer lab and went to www.sheppardsoftware.com to find more information and to practice locating the political and physical features above.
We did not journal today .

***Map Quiz will be next Tuesday (8/27/13)***

Then we did a bubble map of the 8 themes with an example of each
Then we took one and created a story, poem, song, or skit
We will finish these tomorrow :)

8-13-13 Day 4

So today we started off with a warm up (we do everyday)

After the warm up, I checked to make sure students had their syllabus signed (if you have not turned it in yet, please turn it in your class box as soon as you get it signed).

We then continued our notes from yesterday and finished the front of the notes sheet.

The plan is to finish the notes sheet tomorrow (Wednesday), and to have a quiz on these notes on Friday ***

We have been writing in our journals at the end of every class, and you guys are doing an AWESOME job of writing!

8-12-13 Day 3

The first thing we did was a warm up. Then we viewed a ppt on 8 enduring concepts.  We only reviewed 2 of the 8 concepts, so we will continue this ppt over the next few days.  At the end of class we wrote in our journal about what we learned today.  *We also mentioned 2 things:
1. We will check the syllabus to be signed first thing tomorrow
2. We will have a quiz on the 8 enduring concepts this Friday.

8-9-13 Second Day of School!

 Today was a great Friday!
Here is what we did in class today:

1. We viewed the following ppt:
Today's PPT

And took notes using a tree map (extra copies in the "Friday" folder in the front of the classroom).

2. We discussed various questions in the ppt as a class as well as with our assigned groups.

3. 2nd and 6th period classes got to do a varied version of "clock buddies" on the back of today's tree map.

*Remember that the syllabus needs to be signed by the beginning of class on Monday.

8-8-13 First Day of School

First of all, welcome to 7th grade!!!

Today was an amazing day.  Here is what we did in class:

We learned everyone's names (sitting in assigned seats).
We went over the syllabus and talked about class rules and procedures.
We also practiced a few of the class procedures.

*Parents/Guardians need to sign your child's syllabus by Monday's class.
